WHAT ARE THE DATES FOR STURGIS RALLY IN 2021?
Fri, 6 Aug 2021 – Sun, 15 Aug 2021
WHAT WILL CHANGE AT THE STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY IN 2021?
If the situation with Corona Virus dies off, campsites (i.e., Buffalo Chip etc.) will be open.
We would also expect that some great bands will play, and all the mayhem of the rally will be the same (if not wilder).
If we see an increase in COVID 19 cases there could be some changes like less live acts willing to play or closures to certain parts of the rally.
It’s early days right now, but it’s highly unlikely that Sturigs 2021 will be cancelled, postponed or modified.
The official press release from the Sturgis City Council stated: “we ask that attendees help maintain the safety of our community and guests alike by respecting protocols and guidelines.” We look forward to celebrating the City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in grand style in 2021.”
WILL STURGIS 2021 BE AFFECTED BY COVID 19?
That’s a tricky question to answer at this point.
Sturgis 2020 nearly didn’t go ahead because of fears Corona would spread throughout Meade County and South Dakota.
Such a large event could increase the spread Corona Virus. But most bikers aren’t concerned about that – they want to ride and have a good time.
This created a complicated situation for the organisers of Sturgis and the council.
Given that the rally is over 8 months away, Sturgis organizers and the council are optimistic that Black Hills Rally will go ahead in 2021. There is ample time to prepare for the run, and a big turnout expected.
Due to the uncertainty with COVID 19, riding your motorcycle to Sturgis from a long distance such as another state will be much more complicated. You should be aware that there is always the option of shipping your bike there if you want.
